How You Are Charged: The Basics
Understanding your charges is simple. The most common transaction, a customer paying you, is designed to be affordable.
- FREE for Customers: It costs your customers KSh 0 to pay you using Lipa Na M-Pesa.
- FREE for You (Small Payments): You are not charged for any payment you receive that is KSh 200 or less.
- Standard Charge: For payments over KSh 200, you are charged 0.5% of the transaction value.
- Charge Cap: This 0.5% charge is capped at KSh 200. This means any transaction over KSh 40,000 will only cost you KSh 200.
